Bless up, happy 11-11-11 & Veterans Day. I just got out of the hospital tending to 2nd degree wounds and a little more than slightly woozy from some gnarly pain meds, but even that couldnt dull a beautiful day. And now… I get to wrap up these podcasts with one of my favorite North American producers of the last 6 years.
Last but most certainly not least of our podcast series, I’m so happy to present a podcast from non other than XI. 2011 has been abig year for XI, with releases on London based Orca Recordings and playing the 12th annual MUTEK in Montreal.
I first heard of XI’s production back in 2006, namely by a tune called Calligraphy. but it wasn’t until Decibel Festival in Seattle last year when we finally & randomly met, and clicked right away. Do you ever meet someone and wonder, how and whyyyy did I go this long without meeting you? I felt like I’ve been missing out all these years, XI is pure class. He’s also gorgeous, but that’s like, tertiary to the many talents & pure comedy he offers daily.
Producing under numerous names such as UltraGamma, Xi’s made quite a name for himself, and recently relocated to Berlin. We’ll miss him tremendously here, but have no doubt we’ll be hearing of and about him enough to satiate us for the meantime.
All my love to Christian XI, bless yo for coming through on this massive mix. It’s beautiful, and just the way I wanted to wrap up this series..
(Apologies on the short intro… I’m on the weirdest pain meds right now.)

11.10.11 Podcast – Jungle Riddim Records

If you’ve been following these podcasts you’ll see that all our submitters have one thing in common: they’re genuine and passionate people, new friends & old, who are lead by almost a compulsion to push honest, quality music of all genres. That’s what this series has really been about.
Jungle Riddim Records has blessed us with a massive podcast showcasing their talented roster & affiliated artists, brought to you by Direct Feed, Sonic D, & label head honcho and one of my favorite people in the world Daniel. I’ve know Daniel for nearly a decade, and like his label he’s grown but never changed, sticking to a foundation of innovation, and loyalty to roots. I don’t know how he’s done it, but he’s provided up with over 2 hours of content whle currently on Skrillex’s Mothership Tour with our hometown legend 12th Planet, catering dozens of their afterparties. Did I mention he’s a BBQ master? He also brews his own beer, Riddim Red, which he uses to make his own BBQ sauce. Yes, really. I don’t know if he’s single ladies, but I’m extremely protective of him so just relax.
I met Daniel & his crew through one of his artists Mainframe aka Bodie (real name Kevin Jobe), a don in the central coast drum & bass scene when we were running show in the mid 90′s, whose production is featured in this podcast. I just need to shout Kevin out for a minute, as he’s been responsible for introducing me to some of my closest and most quality friends. Congrats on the new family, homie.
Jungle Riddim Records has always been a purveyor of roots, first and foremost, and have never deserted that fundamental element through time. This podcast showcases the many facets of Jungle Riddim’s sound, and features a great studio interview with Direct Feed. You can feel the family vibes & support in this 2 hour radio-style podcast, and I’m honored to have this in my arsenal. Thank you Sonic D for dropping these JR dubs, and thank you Direct Feed for your fireside chat & lively conversation. Y’all absolutely smashed it.
Every tree in the jungle has it’s roots. Jungle Riddim is about to show you how deep their roots go.

11.9.11 Podcast – Monolithium
right-click the image and click [save as] to download
We’re now approaching the last of the Novemeber’s Eleven podcast series, and today’s submission comes to us by way of another west coast bass music mecca: Vancouver, British Columbia.
Monolithium is the nom de plume of Chris Longshanks Subdivision head honcho & the man who’s singlehandedly cleared some elbow-room in the Vancouver bass music scene amongst the bros and brought through many visionary beat architects. He’s one of the hardest working promoters-slash-beat hustlers I’ve met, and rumor has it he runs shit in the kitchen as well.
A child of hip-hop and a student of contemporary electronic music, Monolithium’s sound is the axiom where funk, techno and grime coalesce into concise, focused dancefloor pressure. His debut EP, Simon & G-Funk (via Error Broadcast) is packed with psychedelic crunk from another realm altogether, combining the structures of hip-hop with tough, sexy grooves & colorful synth work.
Live, Monolithium twerks his own diced-up tracks and exclusives, hammering out rhythms on his Ohm64 midi controller yielding a fluid mix of the best of what the global underground dance continuum has to offer. With new sounds due in 2012, expect varied tempos, collaborations & more funk from this engaging new producer.
Chris is a manager’s dream artist: hard working, precise, strategic & talented. This past year he’s played MUTEK & Decibel Festival to a rapturous reception, and he’s currently on tour & playing LA’s Low End Theory club tonight alongside beat godfather Dabrye. No big deal.
In celebration of tonight’s festivities and Monolithium’s first appearance in LA, we offer this brilliant exclusive mix, “For the D” (The D stands for Detroit, Dabrye & Dilla), a collection of beats honoring the forefathers of the beat scene.
11-11 Agency presents: “For the D” an exclusive mix from Monolithium

Let’s bring it back down to the southland, for a healthy dose of some funk tech. You look like you could use it. I sure could.
For our next installment in the series of top shelf quality podcasting, were joining galactic forces with the Mothership Collective, purveyors of the Funk Tech sound. The Mothership conjures the spirit of the classic funk groove elements, and expands on the mission with a unique mix of basstones, intricate percussions, and intelligent rhythms. This is music for you mind, your neck and your spine!
The Mothership is brought to you by producer Luke Cage, your Funk Hero for hire, and Master of Ceremonies, Toaster Extraordinaire J Swift.
On a personal fucking note, this is crew right here, and half the reason I go to Low End Theory every week, even on those nights I just wanna stay in. They’ve been pushing out all-original weekly transmissions of the Mothership Collective breakdown for the last… what are we at boys? 65 weeks? At least? That’s basically an album a week for a solid year. Did you catch that? Seldom do you see that level of commitment & skill.
I’ve spent many a hazy 2am Thursday mornings in Lincoln Heights (‘the hood’, for our non-Angelinos) in 6″ heels, teetering (just a little), holding my weekly yellow envelope from the Mothership Collective, rolling just one more spliff while politicking with Luke Cage & J Swift. Their album release is Thursday January 12th, 2012, which is technically my birthday week so you can go ahead and guess where I’ll be.
Welcome to Los Angeles, the Mothership Collective are gonna take you on a funky carpet ride. Come and sit right here baby. Take your coat off. Can I get you a drink? Jameson & Ginger? Oh, just on the rocks? I got you, boo. Just relax.
It’s about to get funky.

11.7.11 Podcast – Gunshae

“When people jump through time, they give themselves up to the rhyme and reason of the heavens.” - Julian Cope
If you’re just tuning in… where have you been? We’re releasing 11 podcasts in the month of November, one everyday from the 1st to the 11th. Oh, you’re welcome. It’s our pleasure, really.
For the 7th podcast of our November’s Eleven podcast series, we continue the northbound road trip from yesterday further to a familiar place we’ve been before: Vancouver, Canada. And we’re crashing on Gunshae’s couch.
Gunshae is Kuma and Lady Eve, the individuals behind Vancouver’s Konspiracy Group, an organization known internationally for its decade long championing of bass music, soundsystem culture and panambience.
Kuma is captain of the good dub ship. Surely you remember Kuma from our February podcast. Scroll down and have your dome blown back, it’s most definitely contender for podcast of the year. It was so good I had to have him submit one more podcast for us this month.
Lady Eve is the founder and curator of the Panambient Series and host of Panambient FM, heard every fortnight, Tuesdays at 3pm PST via Fnoob.com
Gunshae is what happens when a classically trained musician and a notorious DJ with a passion for improvising, jam on the sound of stuff and things. It’s molten woodwinds and Satie references. It’s heavy drones and show tunes played by a band sitting on a veranda after one too many mint julips. It’s discrete music for the wifi generation. Gunshae plays live and Gunshae makes records. Gunshae’s second album, “Out Of Darkness, Light,” is due out in 2012 on Ohm Resistance. Gunshae does not normally DJ, the individuals involved are well known enough for that as it is.
This however is a panambient DJ set spawned somewhere between Vancouver, Cancun and the stars.

11.6.11 Podcast – DJ PWC

We’re not even halfway through the November’s 11 podcasts and I’m already in awe of the submissions I’ve been receiving.
Day 6, podcast 6 of 11 takes us on a road trip from the southernmost point of California, Sunny San Diego, to the northwest to the state of Washington. This is a regular route for our selector, DJ PWC of the Undersea Collective. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Paul’s acquaintance through Gonjasufi, another San Diego native, and through Paul I’ve met many close friends & acquaintances, such as Mainframe and the rest of the New World Color/A.I.R. He is one of the few heads that still operate under the G-code, and a man of unflinching morals which is frankly, far too rare to find these days. I suggest you follow his twitter, and watch him call out busters, big & small. In a scene where dick-riding runs rampant and success shadows character, Paul still upholds an old-world ideal of hard-work & honor. And shit… I haven’t even gotten into his vinyl collection.
This mix is a wildcard in our November’s 11 podcast series, a collection of record store & thrift shop vinyl finds from a trip up to the Pacific northwest. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

11.5.11 Podcast – PBDY
right-click the image and click [save as] to download
We’re not even halfway through the November’s 11 podcasts and I’m already in awe of the submissions I’ve been receiving.
Allow me to introduce you to LA’s newest transplant and Brainfeeder crew cadet, young Paul Preson aka PBDY.
Sometime last year as I was setting up the agency and finding new contacts in nearby states, I reached out to Paul Preston, in Phoenix at the time and introduced myself as I could see he was deep into it, like myself. We’ve since kept in touch, and he’s always come correct with music recommendations, from heavy metal to beat mixes. The man knows good music when he hears it, just like he knows good gelato when he tastes it. Shout out to the Thai tea gelato at Pazzo Gelato.
What I love most about PBDY, aside from being a foodie & audiophile (and being really, really huggable) is how diverse & varied his selection is. He makes the kind of mixes that I wish I could/would/had the time or talent to make. Luckily for you, I dont have to, because PBDY exists. It doesn’t hurt that he’s now residing in Mt. Washington as Gaslamp Killer’s roommate, but PBDY’s mixes have always been on-point even before shacking up with what I consider to be one of the most prolific DJs in the world. Yeah, I said it. GLK is my favorite fucking DJ.
Ehem.. Per PBDY: “This is a pretty personal mix to me.. really like a journal entry.”
Thank you young PBDY, for sharing a page with us.
11-11 Agency presents an exclusive mix from PBDY

Flying Lotus – “Caravan of Delight”
Sébastien Tellier – “Exploites”

11.4.11 Podcast – QTheSuit
right-click the image and click [save as] to download
Told you not to listen to that last one on hallucinogens..
This next installment of this month’s podcast series comes to us from the Midlands UK, by mysterious (but oh-so-sharply dressed) duo QTheSuit – another talented outfit I have had the pleasure of getting acquainted with through the world wide interweb.
QTheSuit started out as the Dance/Electro arm of The Suit Corp, created in February 2011. QTheSuit is Q (Professor of Soundscapes/Pianist/Producer/Composer) & The Suit (Corporate Leviathan/Guitarist/Producer/Composer).
I dont recall exactly how it happened, perhaps it was through soundcloud, but back in March I heard a track called V6, and reached out to tell the producers to shop it around as it was very good, and it quickly gained praise from the likes of Scratcha on Rinse FM as well as the BBC. Their sound is orchestral, violent, thematic, laden with guitars and strings building this raw culminating energy in their music. I was thrilled when they agreed to the podcast, but I was especially touched to learn later that the opening track of this mix, Death by Chocolate, was written for this podcast, because it’s hard as f*ck. I’m delighted to host this exclusive mix as the fourth of our November’s Eleven podcast series.
A note from QTheSuit:
Slowing gaining fame across the blogosphere, QTheSuit aims to bring you something different. Beats, Bass, Guitars, and Strings. A cacophony of genres and beats trailing you through their warped twisted little world creating a texture of sound proportions.
Fuelled by a love triage of epic film scores, 70’s riff laden rock and post-genre/post-bass music, we are hoping to give your third eye a tangent shift and your ears a re-routing.
For the podcast QTheSuit features some cheeky additional members, a few tracks blessed with the awesome bass of Will Taggart, others the silky vocals of Bella Deanie, and some the Gaelic keys of Le Baron de Pezilla.
You could say this is V1 of the QTheSuit Album, but I’d probably just advise you to shut the curtains, light some candles, pour yourself a cognac and roll yourself a fat one, then sit back and turn the bass up loud.
Because life is about to go sideways.
This is the sound of the Milk Tray man gone bad.
This is the soundtrack to the movie you want to be in.
This is QTheSuit.
Big up & thanks to Q & Suit CEO for this stellar mix/soundtrack. And thanks for Death by Chocolate, that’s my ideal way out of this world.

11.3.11 Podcast – Walter Gross
right-click the image and click [save as] to download
Aaaand we’re back with another installment of our November’s Eleven podcast series, this one channeling other worlds, and just maybe, the space between worlds..
Podcast 3 of 11 is a psych-gospel mix by Walter Gross. This mix has been quite popular at Casa 11-11. My intern Luis & roommate Vyelle insist that I add a disclaimer for listeners to not mix hallucinogens while listening to this mix, or rather, mix responsibly. I lovingly call this mix ‘A Soundtrack to Purgatory’, and I’m so pleased to have this exclusive from Walter Gross.
I first reached out to Walter Gross on facebook to ask for some recommendations on gospel & soul, and Walter Gross did not disappoint. I immediately clocked him as ‘one of us’ (us= delusionally passionate music people) and made a note to hit him in the future for inquiries and tune ID’s. One time in particular, I had asked him about a clip I had heard in an unmarked mix, which later turned out to belong to past podcast contributors Downliner’s Sekt (WHY YOU NO LABEL AWESOME MIX?). I haphazardly recorded the clip on my laptop while singing along to it playing through the laptop speakers and sent it for analysis by the gospel specialist. Walter hadn’t heard it, loved it and commented on my recording ‘technique’ and how dissonant it made the singer’s voice sound. The song ended up being ‘Sinner! Dont Wait’ by Reverend Morgan Babb, and Walter used it in this mix, except he used the haphazardly recorded version I sent him instead of the original clean recording. And he was right, it sounds amazing.
You have to read this man’s bio:
My name is Walter Gross. I live in Los Angeles. I grew up in a funny little town outside of Baltimore called Glen Burnie. My father is a Pastor of a church. I grew up visiting black churches in Baltimore and left an indellible impression on my souI. I also remember learning rhythm in church. Then when I was 15 I was exposed weird new music and beats.. I started dj’ing, digging & scratching records at 16. I started using an MPC when I was 18 and continue to use one. I went deaf for a year and couldn’t listen to music until I slowly regained my hearing and then I fell back in love with Blues & Gospel and odd production methods and tones. I was exposed to the freaky “noise” scene in the slums of West Baltimore… hilarious and real American grime & slime with strong DIY ethics and guts. Again my perspective on art was drastically altered. I moved to Los Angeles in 2008 to link up with label mates, Skrapez (San Diego’s Tenshun & Psychopop) and cut a record with k-the-i??? as Youth:Kill. That record is underground as fuck and a cult favorite to some. I make my own stuff now, I underwent 4 spinal taps and 3 experimental drug studies to finance my label WG REC and to pay my rent. It’s not a real label, but more like a label in the literal sense of the term so I have something to put on the products I self-release. I collage videos & sound. I enjoy releasing tapes & vinyl mostly in very limited runs (not by choice). Now I’m producing heavy psych beats that I sing over and that’ll be the next page in my dirty little book.
DIY Badman.

11.2.11 Podcast – Greg Reve featuring Patmos17
right-click the image and click [save as] to download
Welcome back :]
The second of our November’s Eleven podcast special comes to us from South Africa, from a producer by the name of Greg Reve. I met Greg through twitter last December, when he replied to one of my tweets and linked one of his tunes under his T.O.B. alias with vocals by Tasha Baxter. I loved it, and reached out to him and told him to keep in touch, and likely suggested he forward some of his work to Mary Anne Hobbs on Soundcloud, as I always do when I hear something I like.
I’ve followed him and his projects since, and have admired and enjoyed his range in style and tempo from chilled out vibes to dubstep right up to drum & bass. He’s a slave to a dynamic vision, and it translates in his music. What I hear most in Greg’s work is his aim for audio cross-pollination, between hip hop, drum n bass, dubstep, and beyond. His next vinyl release, out of Lifted Music, boasts some high-profile names, and he’s looking forward to bringing in remixes from artists across the globe who are as dynamic and flexible as himself to further fuck shit up, er, cross-pollinate. Clearly, anyone who knows me can see where me & Greg would hit it off.
This mix features the lyric stylings of South African MC Patmos17 from Tree House on the Sea as well as the song with Tasha Baxter. No written tracklist on this one, it’s spoken at the end of the mix over one of Greg’s orchestral pieces (he didn’t want to ruin the surprise). Also, when I asked him for a bio, he said “tell em I’m fucken rich and Deadmau5 thinks I’m kinda cute.” Done.

Happy November everyone,
We’re switching things up a little this month, and bringing you 11 podcasts starting the first of the month until the 11th. Call it an early Christmas present. We’re calling it November’s Eleven.
For the first of our November’s Eleven podcasts I reached out to an old friend, Rob Bliss who had taken a few years off from DJing to focus on production (and likely waiting for the brostep train to pass). I’ve known Rob for over a decade as we were both involved in the central coast rave scene from the mid-90′s on. Rob Bliss was one of the elder DJ’s who would come out to play our 805 Underground parties with his Rinse & Repeat crew (how ill is that for a crew name?), and he always looked out for us. I always looked a him as an unwavering pilar and a trusted advisory in our little rave microcosm, and he always came correct with selection, mixing & pure vibes. Rob’s credibility was cemented when he married my homegirl, nay, THE homegirl Emily from the LA drum & bass scene. He’s been a part of LA’s Relentless Audio group since 2006 and has maintained a sound loyal to that fundamental component of bass music: bass. Rob accepted my offer to submit a podcast and put together this gorgeous mix exclusive for our podcast special, and called it Rise.
Shortly after turning this mix in, on October 11th Rob & Emily suffered a great loss in the family. All my love to you both in these times, especially Emily, who was there to witness her mom’s soul rise.
Thank you, Rob.

Greetings earth,
Many of the heads will remember the term ‘Thugstep’ being thrown around back in 2006/2007 by founder DJ Nappy who was mashing up dubstep tunes with hip hop vocals. He released a number of these refixes for free on forums such as DSF, which seemed to upset quite a few producers & purists, but I saw the message behind his creation; dubstep was flexible, like German Riesling, and this flexibility has unequivocally breathed life (bass) into every genre of electronic music since inception, from house, to electro, to drum & bass & so on. Nappy was the first to coin the term for a movement that was injecting some hip hop swag into the scene and flexing the mainstream parallels of the sound. To this day I still bump his Lil Wayne/Luke Envoy “Stuntin Like My Daddy” refix… hard as hell (you can grab the 2006-2007 thugstep collection here). But then he disappeared, I didn’t know if he had gone off to war, given up, gotten married or what, but I missed him a lot and always wondering when he’d pop back in the scene. It would only be a matter of time… as you’ll read in his own words.
Lately I’ve been on a quest to revive classic old-school (can we even say that?) dubstep, 2step & garage, so I was really surprised and quite touched when the Thugstep architect asked me to jump online to stream his mixing the podcast live… of an all dubstep set. What a fucking guy. Gentlemen, take some tips from a man who knows how to take notes.
And here, a personal note attached to a gift, of sorts, from a dear friend:
Thursday, September 15th
“On May 11th 2011, I was released from a 51 month stint in prison. I type this 4 months and 4 days later. Since my release, I’ve been a bit overwhelmed.
I completed a dozen studio mixes. Got offered a spot to post on Generation Bass, and linked with Dillon Francis and Starkey to film video interviews. Spun records with Dillon Francis 2 weeks later in Chicago, alongside Dieselboy, Craze, Messinian, and Heroes and Villains. Went on to headline Mad Decent Monday at a packed Fluid nightclub in Philly. Flew to Atlanta, drove 400 miles to Nashville with co-conspirator Definate film Skrillex, and drove back to Atlanta, all in one day, and did this the day before an afternoon set in Atlanta and seeing Klever, DiBiase, Pastor Troy, and Heroes and Villains in 3 different locations as Daniel Disaster gave me one of the best tours of a city anyone could ever have. Recorded ‘This is Anger’, which will be released on every digital download site you can think of by Nu Urban and Rock The Dub by the time you read this. The original was produced by Definate, and it’s been remixed by Spooky (who produced Kozzie’s ‘Destruction’), Teeza, The Two.Fifteens, and more. These are the things that you can find if you look them up, and my life has been 100 times crazier than it seems on the surface. It’s funny what you can get done in 4 months when you’re focused.
But before I started serving time to the state of New Jersey, I started dabbling in dubstep. This was 2005, and the community was incredibly small. I purchased some studio monitors, and fashioned a couple dozen dubstep refixes with rap on top of them. I jokingly called it ‘Thugstep’ and some friendships blossomed from these tracks. One that I hold particularly close is the one with owner/operator of 11.11 agency, Hera. Neither of us had any idea at the time that we would be relevant in this game, and neither of us were given a direction to walk in. We just loved the sound. The vibe. The community. It was innocent. And that was enough.
I never write about my own work. This mix was particularly special to me. I rarely spun records out as these tracks were released, so I was listening for what might sound good with vocals on top. Revisiting those records was interesting as a DJ, and it’s crazy to see what happened to the careers of some of the producers that are on this mix. Some guys are still waiting to get noticed, and deserve more credit than they have. Some peaked and stalled out 5 years ago. Some have become hugely successful, and are headlining the biggest parties around the world. But we were there as it was born. When every one of these records was relevant.
And here it is. My October mix for Eleven Eleven agency. The only track on this release newer than 2007 is the last track, and I knocked it out in one take. No drops. No effects. All love. Thank you.”
No, thank you. Nothing but love for you, Nappy. You already know.

Greetings earth,
A little back story about this month’s spotlight: last year, the Eyjafjallajokull volcano halted all air traffic and refugee’d our girl Mary Anne Hobbs when she was out for her first Coachella performance. As they say, no rest for the wicked. During her refugee mission, she broadcasted two radio specials from Los Angeles: the Volcano Refugee Party & The City of Angels Special. During the recording of the second special, Mary Anne played a tune that left me completely breathless. It was Negative Green, by Barcelona duo Downliner’s Sekt. I recall being completely moved & paralyzed at the same time, and trying to find as much out as possible about the elusive and mysterious duo.
Downliner’s Sekt let the music do the talking for them, and their anonymity only fuels the mystery that their music stirs up. This commitment to let their music stand on it’s own is an art less ventured in an industry gasping for recognition and resorting to gimmicks and compromise. This dedication has not gone unnoticed, as they were invited to play Sonar this year. I foresee much more in their future, and eagerly await for a chance to see them stateside. Yo, Coachella, you paying attention?
Downliners Sekt: They tell the dj’s what to play, and they’ve blessed us with September’s podcast. I encourage you all to make your way to their website and download their amazing catalogue of releases immediately after this podcast. In honor of my muse Mary Anne Hobbs who introduced me to this phenomenal act, allow me to quote her here: “This is your time. Step up.”

Greetings earth,
Summer is in full swing in the northern hemisphere, and we’ve got the perfect soundtrack (regardless of climate) coming straight out of Miami by Smut + Bass co-founder and talented low end technician, Dave Betamax.
11-11 Agency’s own Luis put me onto his artist’s recently released album Dissolved, a beautifully crafted landscape painted with vivid, scattered shades of dubstep, garage, trip-hop reinforced with that ever enigmatic quality of bass; a bass-lover’s paradise. Dave Betamax has got to be one of the few producers stateside who is staying true to sound, reviving cherished 2-step & garage sentiments while incorporating newer elements and pushing the boundaries of sonic aesthetic without selling out to mid-range hype. Tip of the hat to you, sir. This album is definitely one of my favorites of the year thus far.
Luis, thanks for putting me on. And Dave, thanks for coming through. This mix is mean as sh!t.

Greetings from California!
With the exception of last month’s submission by our very own DNAEBEATS, we’d like to continue to offer this platform to our friends, colleagues, and other respected artists from across the land who have shown so much love and support throughout the years.
We have a very special treat for this month’s 11/11 podcast, an exclusive mix of all-original material from our good friends EshOne & Misk of San Diego, under their ELK project. I met Misk (Aaron Zimmerman) and Esh (Donnie Valdez) as result of our shared passion/delusion for a particular sound once called dubstep, now fragmented and more broadly generalized as bass music. Both are fellow trackers and Renoise advocates (San Diego is apparently a hub, shout out to 11-11′s San Diego native Renoise artists Vaccine & ASC), and both have been relentless in their efforts to keeping the deeper and experimental veins of bass music alive.
Misk is, among many things, a font critic and connoisseur of type, if you will, and he is solely responsible for our agency logo (look up, isn’t it fucking fabulous?) and symbol. Esh runs Dead Technology, a San Diego monthly hosted at Kava Lounge on the last Thursday of every month with one simple rule: strictly vinyl and dubplates all night. Nothing with a start or eject button is allowed. I know all you vinyl buffs just got a semi over that line.
The buttons are reserved for the studio, where Esh & Misk have collaborated on a new project together called ELK. Hearing this from two artists whose work I’ve admired for years, this was a welcome concept, and I immediately offered them a podcast.
This is the gem they have submitted. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. No tracklist on this one, please contact them via one of the links below if you have any questions. ELK, an 11 gun salute to you. Thank you for keeping it one-hun-id, each and every time.

We’re back from the road, and we survived. Barely.
We scoured the northern american continent and surveyed the land to bring you loads of new and exciting sounds, events, and some exciting developments in the months to come. One of which being our most recent signee, San Francisco beatsmith and low-end hustler, DNAE BEATS.
What drew me to this cat, aside from his unique sound and mile-long rep sheet in the hip-hop and bass music spheres, was his drive. He’s one of the most humble and hardest working producers I’ve met, and he’s completely committed to his sound. I had the pleasure of seeing him in San Francisco last month, and I got to witness him take command of the dancefloor through an amazing live performance. He also performed at the last Low End Theory SF monthly, and will be returning to hold it down for the SF beat-heads.
He’s put together this beat tape of some unreleased blaps and remixes. Put this on and get krunk.
Coincidentally, he will be at the legendary Low End Theory club at The Airliner in Los Angeles tonight and I cannot wait to see him again. Pleasure to have you onboard, DNAE. Thanks for this beat tape!
